Baltic3D customer applications range from transportation and aerospace to manufacturers of electronics, drones, food-processing, medical equipment, furniture, molding and many more.

Latvian Railways

Latvian Railways Rolling Stock Service, Ltd. is a subsidiary of Latvian Railways specializing in repair, modernization, maintenance and equipping of railway rolling stock, hire and modernization of mainline and shunting locomotives.

The company was facing a problem of being unable to purchase certain locomotive components. Baltic3D engineers designed 3D models for required spare parts, including blowing rotor for electricity generator, air diffuser for engine turbine and others.

The benefits of 3D manufactured blowing rotor included increased tensile strength, reduced air resistance, reduction of components from over 200 to 1 and reduction of overall weight from 10 kg to 1 kg. As a result of weight reduction, the inertia of the fan also decreased, which, in turn, reduced the load on the engine, bearings and other drive mechanisms.

ARTeSYN Biosolutions

ARTeSYN is a company that designs and manufactures single-use/disposable systems and components for the bio-pharmaceutical industry. They are striving to increase efficiency, lower costs and ultimately increase the amount of medicine manufactured, making them more accessible to a larger amount of people.

The company needed a cost- and time-efficient solution to produce components for their Exoskeletal Support Fluid Management system. Parts needed to be durable without loss of any mechanical properties.

Baltic3D was able to produce several hundreds parts using FDM technology and ULTEM™ 9085 resin thermoplastic material. 3D manufactured parts were considerably lighter, and therefore easier for the operator to handle, and overall 3D manufacturing of serial components resulted in savings of production cost and time.

Magnetic MRO

Magnetic MRO is a Total Technical Care maintenance and asset management organization with a global presence and two decades of worldwide experience. The company has a well-established reputation in innovative solutions, digitalized MRO services and proven track record as a one-stop total technical care organization for airlines, asset owners, OEMs and operators.

The company needed to produce components for an aircraft interior. Lead time for traditionally manufactured parts was projected to take more than 3 months, which was unacceptable for routine maintenance procedures. Since the part count was small, Magnetic MRO reached out to Baltic3D to explore the possibility to manufacture these parts with industrial 3D printing.

Baltic3D designed, prototyped and tested these parts within a week, and by using aerospace grade ULTEM9085 material, all parts were produced and delivered to Magnetic MRO within 2 weeks timeframe.

Shield48 is protective medical gear designed out of urgency and need. Prototyped and manufactured within 48 hours by Baltic3D engineers, and delivered to hospitals, factories and office workers. It could not have been achieved without 3D additive manufacturing and highly professional engineers at Baltic3D.
